YSC has eminently contributed to the national scenario of sports. It has given Gujarat its first Arjun Awardee, Shri. Sudhir Parab (Kho Kho) and that is not the only but 2 more Arjun Awardees to the sport of Cricket, Shri. Kiran More and Shri. Nayan Mongia.
- Cricket has always been our strong point and many of our players like Jacob Martin, Atul Bedade, Satyajit Parab and Ajit Bhoite have made it to national/international level. Murtaza Vora, this year’s outstanding player in Ranji Trophy is also our prodigy.
- Smt. Bhavana Tiwari secured the second position in 100 mts. Run in the Junior National Athletic Championship and Ms. Razia Sheikh was National champion in Javelin throw and hence honored with Sardar Patel Award for athletics.
- In the game of Kho Kho, Shri. Rajesh Shelar won the prestigious Eklavya Award (State Level). Shri. Chandrakant Sane, Shri. R.P. Shah and Shri. Dhomse represented India the 3rd SAF (South Asian Federation of Games) Games at Calcutta in 1987-88 for introducing Kho Kho in the ensuing games. Shri. Nilesh Sapkal also represented India in the Afro-Asian games at Hyderabad in 2001-2001for demonstration games.
- Shri. Dinesh Pawar shined at National School Championship at Nadiad in 1986-87.
- Shri. Dahyabhai Solanki played Football for Combined Universities Team in football tournaments. Shri. Roufus Rocky was captain of Gujarat state for Santosh Trophy, National Football tournaments and Shri. K.O. Paul also led Gujarat after him.
- Its not just sports that we have left our mark on. We have given 3 of our National players, Col. Murlidhar Shanbaug, Col. Atul Pradhan and Wing. Co. Vijay Tiwari to the Defense Force.
- Dr. Mahesh Guran, physio and a specialist in sports injury and rehabilitation enjoys the National Reckoning along with Shri. Suhas Pawar who is a Ranji Trainer.
- Attended Under 16 UK tour which includes a set of eight practice matches against different local teams in August 2016.
- Attended UK tour for second consecutive year in August 2017.
With comprehensive facilities and training programs of international standards, we have an ideal platform to discover and hone the raw talent. We have developed a mechanized roller for our turf wickets. An English bowling machine, an Astroturf wicket and a full fledged gymnasium are the latest additions to our infrastructure.
